![]() ![]() Thats still the best pedal advert I've seen! I have the Fuzz War Overload, its my favourite fuzz. ![]() I presume you've seen his Fuzz War Overload demo, priceless: Thee Oh Sees and John Dwyer are incredible aren't they? One of the best live bands in recent memory. Has anyone tried the Fuzz War Overload? Rare and pricey but looks like a perfect all round solution to lots of problems, a treble boost and fuzz stacked together. Thee Oh Sees also use one (John Dwyer had a custom model out a few years ago with an additional treble boost) which when it sounds like this its not hard to hear why its highly thought of: " onclick="window.open(this.href) return false If its the Ty Segal sound you dig then Fuzz War every time. Worldofjon wrote:The Fuzz War comfortably covers muff territory but the tone control is really expressive, you can get some Tonebender style fuzz out of this thing pretty easily. If Ty's not playing the 335, the SG or the bass, what was he doing in the context of Meatbodies? I was in that barn:) It was truly an amazing set of music. One of the best performances I've ever seen, the whole band were tight as hell. Mikal Cronin was playing a mid-70s SG and wearing a cape, there was a bit in their set where he was on his knees manipulating the feedback on his delay, holding the guitar aloft. I did everyone's heads in by constantly going on about how great it was afterwards and forcing them to go see them the next day. I rushed down to where i was coming from and tried to get hold of everyone to come and join me, but couldn't find anyone. I remember walking through the camping area in the woods, and I heard this amazing guitar playing hurling its way through the trees, and it literally drew me toward it, pied piper style. Meatbodies were phenomenal, especially their Barn set, much better live than on record, and I like their records. I couldn't see the foot of the stage from my relaxed vantage point I'm afraid. ![]() I say "remember", as I was slightly hungover by that point, coupled with staying up for over 36 hours the day before meant getting down the front in the throng was completely out of the question. I saw him at the Woods stage and he sounded superb, playing a Les Paul if I remember correctly. One of my aim's of that weekend Mark was to find out up-close what fuzz and other pedals Ty was using, I've been interested by this thread. Extra features: We looked for recorders with presets that adjust mic sensitivity and equalization to optimize for specific recording situations (these are sometimes called “scene select”) and background noise cancellation.Format flexibility: We preferred the capability to record audio in a number of file formats and at various bit rates or sample rates to optimize for storage space or sound quality.Easy file transfer: For moving files between the recorder and either a Mac or Windows computer via USB.A microSD card slot: This allows for memory expansion beyond the 4 GB minimum. At least 4 GB of internal memory: This amount allows for about 40 hours of recording time, depending on the chosen audio format.A simple-to-navigate file system: This should include self-explanatory buttons, shortcut buttons, and a convenient back button. An easy-to-read display: We preferred larger, uncluttered screens, and if possible, a backlight to make the screen readable in low-light or dark settings.Good recording quality: While audio doesn’t need to be podcast quality, recordings should be intelligible and free from hiss, rumbles, echoes, or the excessive background noise that plagues poorer-quality recordings. The UX560 is also the slimmest recorder we tested-at 0.43 inch thick it can easily fit in a shirt or pants pocket. Like many of the other recorders we looked at, it comes with an adequate amount of onboard storage (4 GB) but accepts microSD cards, so you can record and store hundreds of hours of recorded audio should you need it. It also offers a better collection of features than the other models we tested, with an easy-to-navigate menu system, a bright backlit screen, 39 hours of recording time (in MP3 format), 27-hour battery life, voice-activated recording to pause and restart after silences, and a pop-out USB 3.0 connector that lets you recharge the recorder and transfer files to a computer easily. It produces clear, understandable audio in classroom, quiet office, and noisy coffee shop settings.
